Government roadshow about the future of LAAs

Individuals from several of our partner organistions attended a Government Office event to explore arrangements for new Local Area Agreements

On 15 March 2007 Government Office for the South East hosted an interesting session on the future arrangements for LAAs. The event was part of a series of roadshows that are taking place across the country as part of the debate to inform the new LAA process. They will also inform the operational guidance for new statutiry LAAs that is expected later in the year. There were presentations and workshops, where detailed issues such as accountability, performance management and financial arrangements were explored in detail.

James Blake, Head of Local Agreements and Partnerships at Communities and Local Government gave a presentation on Implementing the New Performance Framework and LAAs (.pdf format, 42Kb). This provided additional detail to the recent publication 'Developing the Future Arrangements for Local Area Agreements'.

Philip Coleman, Head of Policy at West Sussex County Council gave a vision of his ideal LAA which rang true with many delegates. View his presentation (.pdf format, 42Kb) and supporting text (.pdf format, 42Kb).
