Evidence gathering
Three workshops were held in July to consider the priority issues for Oxfordshire. The paper Oxfordshire Futures (.pdf format, 1.3 Mb) presented a briefing for attendees on the key trends and data. A report on the issues raised in the July workshops was produced and can be read by following the link to the July workshops page
Twelve briefing papers on a wide range of themes were produced to provide an overview of the key issues and options by theme for members of the partnership and partner organisations. Each paper was developed by experts in consultation with their relevant partnership group(s) - a wide ranging collaborative process. Read the papers on the briefing papers page.
Prioritising issues
The next stage of the process was the publication of the Draft Issues and Options paper and the overview workshops in September. The Draft Issues and Options paper (.pdf format, 434 Kb) consolidated the priorities identified in the briefing papers and July workshops and suggested areas for action for the strategy.
An overview workshop for the business sector held at Egrove Park on 4 September 2007 was very well attended with lively debate about the future priorities for Oxfordshire.
On 12 September the Oxfordshire Partnership and on the 13 Oxfordshire councils met to discuss the issues and options for the strategy and prioritised the areas for action following the overview workshops and the evidence papers.

A draft framework of priorities for the strategy using all the evidence gathered was discussed by the Oxfordshire Partnership on 23 October. View the draft priorities for the strategy. Partners commented on the draft priorities. The Partnership agreed the priorities for the strategy at its meeting in December 2007. Drafting the strategy
Between December and May 2008 detailed drafting of the strategy has been taking place alongside development of the new Local Area Agreement. Partners will be able to comment on the draft in May before the board agreed the draft for public consultation at its meeting on 23 June 2008.
A twelve week period of public consultation will take place from 7 July to 27 September 2008. The public and all partners will be encouraged to give the Partnership their views on the draft strategy and asked if it reflects their priorities for the county. The involvement plan for this period will be available here.
