Cherwell Sustainable Community Strategy consultation
Members of the public and partners are being asked to comment on a new blueprint which will guide Cherwell’s progress until 2030.
The latest sustainable community strategy has been drawn up by the Cherwell Community Planning Partnership (CCPP) using information and opinions gathered during the first half of 2009.
Within the document are a series of pledges which the partnership will use as its set of directives for decision-making.
- The first of these aims for a diverse economy with a range of employment opportunities for all levels of education and ability.
- Next is the desire to provide opportunities for all, regardless of their background and personal circumstances.
- Thirdly, members of the partnership will seek to consider environment and heritage in all its decisions and ensure appropriate infrastructure is provided.
- And finally, members of the public will have a hand in all major decision which affect their communities, as part of an open and democratic process.
Read the draft strategy and take part in the consultation which will run for 12 weeks until 9 October 2009.
Alternatively email community.planning@cherwell-dc.gov.uk or call Helen Couperthwaite on 01295 221751. Results will be published by the end of November.
