Oxfordshire's Place Survey is a partnership project and was carried out by the county and district councils between 29 September and 19 December 2008 using a postal survey approach.

This survey is part of a national exercise that all English councils are asked to undertake by central government. It will be carried out every two years and replaces the three yearly BVPI survey. The questionnaire and approach are prescribed by central government.

The Place Survey contains sections on:

Read the questionnaire (.pdf format, 194 Kb) (please note this version of the questionnaire is branded for the Cherwell area).

The results of the survey are still provisional (as at June 2009) as the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), which is responsible for the Place Survey across the country, has not confirmed or published the final results for any council area. The DCLG has made a statement about the likely publication of the national results at Communities and Local Government website.

When the full results are published, and data is available from all other local councils, more detailed analysis will be available to public service providers in Oxfordshire and to members of the public.
