LAA reward grant success

Oxfordshire has just received over £4M in Local Area Agreement reward grant.

Sunday, April 18, 2010

The payment of £4,281,963.64 is the first (50%) instalment of the claim we submitted to government in December 2009 for the achievement of our Local Area Agreement 2006-09 targets. The second instalment will be paid later in 2010-11 financial year.

Councillor David Robertson, Chairman of the Public Service Board said "I hope you will join me in thanking all those partner organisations and individuals who worked hard to deliver the improvements in performance demanded by our stretch targets. I am committed to continual improvement as a matter of course but the added bonus of this financial reward is welcome recognition by government of our success."

Half of the reward money will go to partners who delivered the target whilst the other half has been allocated by the PSB to fund a range of exciting partnership projects. These projects include £1m to target areas of deprivation in the county, £1m to support our partnership ambition to develop a world class economy in the county and £500,000 to build low carbon communities.

More about how these projects are going will be available on this website over the coming months.

We are now entering the final year of our second Local Area Agreement and whilst it does not have the same level of reward associated with it is important that we continue to work hard to achieve our targets.
