Launch of the 'Unwind Your Mind' mental health book collections
An event to launch this partnership initiative between the PCT and the county council's Library Service takes place on Monday 29 March at the Central Library in the Westgate Centre, Oxford, between 9.30am and 1pm.
To launch the self-help book collections that are now available throughout Oxfordshire to help people deal with all sorts of common mental health difficulties, such as stress, anxiety, bereavement, panic, self-esteem and depression, on Monday 29 March Stephanie Robertshaw of the BBC Headroom campaign for Better Mental Health will interview:
- Helen Kennerley, a founder member of the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre and an experienced clinician specialising in childhood trauma whose book on managing anxiety states is in the collections; and
- Patrick Taylor, Director of MIND in Oxfordshire.
14 libraries throughout Oxfordshire will receive a collection. It is hoped that GP surgeries, Registration offices, job centres and family centres will all promote the collections to people they come into contact with who might be in need.
If you would like to find out more, come along to the launch or download the leaflet promoting the collections (.pdf format, 636 Kb), including details of all the books that are available.
