Partnership briefings success

Last week three briefing sessions updated partners on the Sustainable Community Strategy and Local Area Agreement processes as well as showcasing best practice in local partnership working.

Tuesday, April 15, 2008

Briefings were held in Oxford, Aynho near Banbury and Abingdon.

More than 50 people from a wide range of backgrounds attended each event. Town and parish councils as well as partners from the police were particularly well represented.

Attendees heard from the Oxfordshire Partnership team about the progress on the development of Oxfordshire 2030, the vision for Oxfordshire and how 35 indicators (plus 16 statutory Children and Young People's indicators) have been selected for negotiation of targets with government for our new Local Area Agreement.

Most importantly the briefing sessions showcased examples where partnership working through the LAA is making a real difference to outcomes for people in Oxfordshire. Attendees heard from Antoinette Broad from the Oxfordshire Falls Service; Romy Briant Chair of the Domestic Violence Steering Group; Graham McCartney from Thames Valley Probation who leads the Priority and other Prolific Offenders scheme in Oxfordshire; and Ian Davies from the Waste Partnership which brings councils together to promote waste reduction and cleanliness across the county.
