Growing Older in Oxfordshire – 'A Tale of Two Counties'

Age UK Oxfordshire have launched their report into the experience of growing older in Oxfordshire, pointing to the fact that many underlying inequalities persist.

Friday, June 18, 2010

Age UK Oxfordshire (formerly Age Concern) have launched their new report called "A Tale of Two Counties". The report combines a review of the best available evidence with the views of older people themselves from forums held around the county, to point to the persistence of many underlying inequalities. Older people sometimes get a raw deal - e.g. about 10 per cent of older people feel always or often lonely and four in five feel ignored by society. The report also highlights a lot of good and proposes ten steps to an age-friendly Oxfordshire.
