Carers' services in Oxfordshire are changing

A new service 'Carers Oxfordshire' for adults who are carers of adults, provided by Oxfordshire County Council in partnership with Age UK Oxfordshire, began on 1 April 2011.

Carers Oxfordshire will provide:

The service is available to carers, families and friends, professionals and other organisations.

Carers Oxfordshire will maintain and develop the Carers' Peer Support groups.

Who are 'carers'?

A carer is someone who looks after a relative, friend or neighbour who is in need of support because of frailty, illness, disability or a difficulty (such as an addiction). Carers are unpaid. Being a carer brings its own rewards, but it can also be very hard work, both physically and emotionally.

What is happening to the Carers' Centres in Oxfordshire?
